From The Couch: Round 17
Submitted by Nick Tedeschi on 07/07/2011
Let the Heavens Open and the Wrath Begin: In over 20 years of watching
rugby league, rarely have I been as angered as much as I was on
Saturday night. And let's make this perfectly clear: I am an angry man
when it comes to matters rugby league.
The decision to bench David Stagg for Ben Roberts in the starting side
for Canterbury's humiliating loss to Penrith was the most ridiculous
selection call I have ever seen. Let's replace one of the best players
in the competition for a goddamn moron who offers nothing to any team.
Kevin Moore should have been fired immediately. If I were running
Canterbury, Moore wouldn't have made it to game time. Jim Dymock would
have had the clipboard after that monstrosity of a decision had been
made.

Postcard from St Andrews
Submitted by Cliff Bingham on 05/07/2011
With the 2011 British Open at Royal St George's looming large on the
horizon (Thursday week to be precise), my thoughts have frequently
drifted away from the Canberra winter and back to the northern summer
of last year - specifically, to six wonderful days spent wandering The
Old Course at St Andrews as the 2010 British Open unfolded before my
eyes. Here is how the best week of my life (spent at my favourite place
on earth) went down.

The Early Line: Round 17
Submitted by Nick Tedeschi on 02/07/2011
Parramatta have opened up 2.5 point favourites in their Friday night
match with Brisbane.
The Eels have won 7 of 12 against the Broncos but their attack looks
non-existent without Jarryd Hayne. The Broncos, meanwhile, look fairly
well balanced across the board. Parramatta were dreadful last week so
even though the return from Perth is concerning, we will have a 1 unit
play on the Broncos +2.5.
No total play.

Try Line Picks: Round 17
Submitted by Nick Tedeschi on 02/07/2011
Round 17 - Making the Nut Round Selection
Raiders - Line: 5.00 Bet Units: A good old fashioned ambush from the
Raiders last week will be enough to get them up for a Monday night win
against the Roosters. The Roosters will struggle to keep in touch with
a Raiders side that can score points - it is well documented how much
the Roosters are struggling to score tries in 2011. Without Pearce,
Myles, and Minichiello it is hard to see Carney and Anasta, in the form
they are, muster enough pressue to convert to points. The Raiders were
only OK last week against an average Eels, so dont expect this game to
be high quality. One of the most significant rating points in this game
is the interchange, the Raiders bench of Buttriss, Harrison, Tilse and
Thurling offer plenty more than Anthony Mitchell, Masoe, Arona and a
centre / winger in Linnett (how Smith will use him who know, he will
probably be replaced before kick-off). Take the Raiders to cover (up to
-1.5).

July 2 Racing Selections
Submitted by Nick Tedeschi on 01/07/2011
Tips for this weekend cover the July 2 meetings at Moonee Valley,
Rosehill, Sunshine Coast (Caloundra Cup Day) and Morphetville.
Apologies for the brevity of this column - time constraints have meant
that this will be a column of tips without associated justifying
arguments. Mind you, my current run of `outs' on horses priced $6 or
greater (now 25 such losing runners since Once Were Wild saluted on
April 9.... shaking my head sadly...) probably means that you're not
reading the justifications anyway.

From The Couch: Round 16
Submitted by Nick Tedeschi on 30/06/2011
Origin III Selection Notes: My first thought when Ricky Stuart named a
20-man squad: the 17-squad team named by the idiotic cricket selectors
before the opening Test of last summer's Ashes disaster.
Simon Katich said about that ridiculous selection notion three weeks
back: "it reeks of indecision".

At the Trough Rd 14
Submitted by Schitty on 30/06/2011
AFL - News, Reviews, Injuries and Tactics are all discussed "At the
Trough"
with Schitty.
The Life of a Pioneer: Everyone called Ron Barassi crazy when he and
Barry Richardson went looking abroad for a new style of footballer.
Football in the 70s and 80s was a tough game. One needed to be a
footballer first, and an athlete second. If you couldn't read the play,
if you had no understanding of the game then you simply couldn't make
the grade.

The AFL Lines - Rd 15
Submitted by Cliff Bingham on 29/06/2011
Round 14 saw West Coast enter the top-4 debate, Aaron Sandilands go
down again to leave the Dockers vulnerable and the Demons and Kangaroos
vault to the front of the queue of teams battling it put on the fringes
of the top-8. Round 14 also saw Greg Oberscheidt continued his fine
punting form while Cliff Bingham went into a Maverick/ Goose like
tailspin. The boys are back this weekend with further rants and their
recommended bets for the first time since Luxbet came on board as a
sponsor of the Making the Nut site.

Enter your search keyword(s) and the keyword "zorgium" into the search input field of

Heads up: There's an ongoing spamdexing of Google searchbot algorithms. Sites that are 'copies of copies' and cloaked sites which include Zorgium keywords presented to search engine crawlers yet garbage content presented to human visitors were hosted on thousands of IP addresses and domains registered immediately after the introduction of Zorgium in November of 2009. The Hostgator/'The Planet'/Softlayer datacenters in Texas seem to be the epicenter of this activity in conjunction with anonymously registered domains of various TLD's but primarily .info domains at Godaddy which, in our opinion, has some sort of connection to the domains of goldmint.in and goldmint.org. Google has begun to notice this and has begun to lower the ranking of these sites and put our original sites back on top of the search rankings. These actions, as far as we can tell, negatively impact the use of the keyword 'zorgium' as a search term and provided little benefit, if any, to the perpetrators.
ZORGIUM note to content providers: If you don't want your page to appear in Zorgium's search abstraction then put an exclusion for "Zorgium" in your web server's robots.txt file.
